“The Essential Worker – we owe you all a great debt of gratitude in these Coronavirus times

I’m lying awake at 4:30 in the morning, getting ready for another fun-filled day in the COVID crisis, and I feel an overwhelming need to thank a great portion of this great Country for doing their part to keep us moving.

Here’s a post to thank everyone out there in these crazy times who go out every day and night, and keep this Country working.

During times when social media is inundated with posts from celebrities who are ‘coping’ with sheltering in place, here’s my heartfelt tribute to my counterparts all over the world who keep things running during these times.

The term, “essential worker” is not a new concept, those ‘essentials’ do it everyday, and have done so for a hundred plus years.

It’s a badge of honor in my opinion, so here’s to everyone out there keeping this Country running during a time of such disarray.

First responders of all kinds; fire, police, EMS, along with dispatchers , jail, prison guards – they never stop being on the front lines, and they all deserve great gratitude for what they do every single day and night, not just now.

The US military, for over 200 years, these sailors, solders, airmen and marines have stood watch.

Here’s to doctors, nurses, and all the unsung hospital support staff who actually run those facilities and keep them clean.

Here’s to gas station attendants, grocery store employees, restaurant workers, all of you still out there making a living in times where we have to wear protective clothing in public for the first time in my lifetime.

If you’re out there working, no matter what it is, God bless you, and thank you !

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” Numbers 6:24 – 26
